Hi, Guys has anyone been to Kavieng or Lisenung Is as I'm heading that way at the end of the year.
Thanks Mark.

Have not done Kavieng yet

But Lissenung has to be one of the best islands in PNG, some of the best wall diving anywhere, unlimited vis and so much life you just don't know where to look. Doing drift dives with the Sharks and Mantas through the channels will just blow your mind.

Cheers
Chriso

The diving in Kavieng is awesome - sheer walls, some interesting wrecks, lots of big fish and some amazing macro as well as great vis.

John and I stayed at Malagan's resort in Kavieng in 2004 and dived with Scuba Ventures but you can also stay on Nusa Island across the lagoon or on Lissenung, which is located further out (about 30 mins by boat). The diving is essentially the same. We quite often saw the Lissenung boats at nearby sites - although I am not sure if Lissenung very often dived the sites closer to Kavieng itself and some of these sites were certainly worth the visit - particularly Deep Pete.
