OK, this will not be extreme, just underwater ironing, so, this will be done in a pool, so no wetsuits required.

The purpose of this attempt is for 2 things, break the record obviously, plus, to raise money for a charity or two, which are careflight and the cancer council. With this in mind, there will be a small fee to partake in the attempt, probably $10, this will also get you a free T shirt as well. That will be used for your item of clothing in the attempt.

A BBQ will be fired up as well.

Date: 26th November
Time: Muster at 5pm - hit the pool at 6:30pm (No wetsuits or fins will be required, it's a heated pool)
Where: The Peninsula Leisure Centre, Blackwall rd, Woy Woy, Central Coast of NSW.

I will be organising a shore dive at the haven at terrigal that morning, so bring all your gear for that.

We seriously will need a lot of people for this, plus lots of irons and especially boards. Keep your eyes open for boards out for council pickup, they are usually the good old all metal ones.

Soon I will open up a register for those who will be attending to register their names etc. Please help us make this a success and raise a lot of money for those two worthy charities.

Long story, short version is because the local council has become involved and want some positive publicity for the aquatic centre.

a pool..., those dammed New Zealanders will not let us live this one down.....

but wait - as long as we get more than 72 of us, we still get to stick it to the victorians right??? whoo hooooo, there's still something to get excited about!!!

just a thought - can we download a pdf flyer so we can hand it out to people? while at a dive site, teaching ect, hanging out at dive shops.. will help raise interest from divers who dont hang out on this forum.

Yes,
watch out for the Melbourne Underwater Cup on the 1st of November 2005...

(NOTE: To any non-Victorians, it usually buckets down and drown all the purty young things in the crowd on Cup Day! )

Cheers

Sorry, but the organisers have pulled the pin on this one and postponed it for a undefined period.
