Hey Webby

Well, thanks for the pre-announcement! (Seriously).

Yes, Surface Interval is a new podcast for divers by a group of divers - Greg Blair (Bear), Andrew Bowie (abowie) and Des Paroz (mondo).

We plan to present a show every 1-2 weeks, and well discuss a whole bunch of topic about recreational diving, technical diving, underwater photography, dive destinations and the marine environment. We hope that others will get involved - already Webby has agreed to do a regular piece, as has Dave Harasti (DaveH).

So please jump over to http://surfaceinterval.thepodcastnetwork.com, give us a listen, and let us know what you think - either through the comments on the Surface Interval website, or by email to surfaceinterval@gmail.com

Hope you all enjoy the show!

Yes, it was down most of the day..

Looks like we may have broken the server..

Hopefully this is just one of those things that happen in web land and is only a minor setback in these early days.

Cheers

the sound made it very hard to listen to in the office even with my office door closed. Bear was quite loud and clear but Des sounded like he off in the corridor somewhere.

other than that - i enjoyed listening, always good to hear about other divers & their diving. Andrew talking about Bikini Atol was great - not a place i would have put on my wish list before.

And since seeing his images and the DVD from the trip I must say that I am extremely jealous and it is definately up there as one of my must do trips.

Hey Ben

Thanks for that. Its entertaining to do.

The US thing was spontaneous. Why does it come so naturally to Aussies?

G'day almitywife

Thanks. I'm going to experiment with the post-production (or "post" as we in the business call it) to see if I can improve this next time.

The actual show is via a Skype conference call, with Bear in Melbourne, Andrew in Adelaide, and me in Sydney. I was doing the recording on my end, so I was being gracious to the other guys making them sound better.

Anyway, its all fun. I see from another post that Bikini was in fact on your wishlist after all. So enjoy

I reckon that between us we've been to a few cool places, so we can a bit about some of those

Best

Hi Ben,

we recorded another session last night and Des is now doing the post-production and editing so it should be on the site by the weekend.

I've heard Bowie could not make it this time so they brought in a replacement Bowie.

Well, we shall have to see if I was up to your standard. I may never be asked back again.

Please take this as a positive suggestion. Maximum time should be perhaps 20 minutes. There was not enough content to keep going for 48 mins. There was a lot of interesting stuff but also a lot of bring bits where you appeared to be crapping on. I know that on this web site a lot of people will not have the guts to tell you this, but I will. Do not get cranky with me for saying this!
I think it has a lot of potential, but it should not be the same people all the time and needs to pull in as interviewees a lot of different people with differnet experiences to make it worthwhile.

Michael,

thanks for your honest opinion and suggestions. Much of what you have covered has already been addressed and the intent is to keep it fresh with a special guest or interview with various people within the industry in each episode.

Cheers

So do you have to be in the INDUSTRY!!! or just be a person who loves diving?

Cheers Col.
