Directions: Opposite South Rd in Hampton. Very close to the Brighton Beach train staiton. One of the closest dive sites to Melbourne besides the Yarra!
Description: Easy shallow reef off Hampton. Car parking available $2/hr or $6/day. Walk down steps across beach (look out for bike track and walkers!) and then swim about 10m to edge of reef. Take a bearing towards the orange sailing marker about 500m out.

The reef is very shallow but drops to around 4m after 200m swim. There are heaps of abalone to see as well as luderick, small schnapper, small stingrays, nudibranchs. Between the 2 sets of stairs about 300m out in 4m of water is quite a substantial wreck with long lines running away from it, possible a yacht. Lots of growth on it. Great place for a night dive.

Very safe easy dive. used for training and Rescue courses. On a calm day the viz is pretty good. Avoid SW wind days. Good place to get wet. Non divers can walk along boardwalk and there is a park nearby for BBQs.
