Wreck Description: THE CHEYNES III IS A 120FT WHALE CHASER WHICH WAS DONATED TO SOUTHCOAST DIVERS CLUB BY THE JAYCEES FOUNDATION WHEN WHALING CEASED IN ALBANY. THE VESSEL WAS SCUTTLED IN JUNE 1982. SHE LIES ON THE WESTERN END OF MICHAELMAS ISLAND. THE VESSEL IS BUOYED AND IS TOTALLY SAFE FOR ALL DIVERS. THE VESSEL IS INTACT WITH THE REAR DECK COLAPSED. THE MARINE GROWTH AND FISH LIFE MAKE THIS SITE A PHOTOGRAPHERS DREAM.
