Hi All

After some ideas for a better boarding ladder for my 6m RIB, at the moment it has a crappy stainless slide out type but generally use the outboard

Turtle,
You are about to get recommendations to get a divers "T" ladder but unless you can walk aboard your vessel with fins on there is no point. These ladders hinge on a central shaft which wears quickly with heavy divers working them side to side. Better to get a more traditional two rail ladder with the bottom rung deep enough so you don't have to be a contortionist to get your foot up to it. Make the steps wide enough to spread the load on your feet. The ladder should also be angled away from the boat about 15 degrees rather than dead vertical. A ladder is only half the solution, and matching handrails are essential, and they should be both sides of the ladder, low enough to grab with your foot on the bottom rung, and extend high enough to support you until you are standing. Strangely enough this describes the ladders on my boat and as an old fart I can vouch for their effectiveness!
