Hi Guys,
Sorry if this is going over old ground (had a quick search of the forum and could not find the topic) Is there anywhere to get an air fill in either San Remo or Phillip Island? [:X]

AFAIK the close airfills to the island is actually in Inverloch (about a 45 drive from Cowes) - contact Lex Thorbecke in Park St 56742382.

I think Mel is on the money here, but if your doing your diving from San Remo/ Newhaven, then Inverloch is only a short trip to get fills. Certainly ring first as this is not a dive shop, just a guy offering fills from the back of his home.
Other than that you would have to drive all the way back to Frankston or Hastings- not ideal.

Thanks Guys,
We have 3 tanks each but just thought for a few days diving we may need to get fills locally - Inverloch would be 45 mins each way which is a looong way for a fill. Looks like we may need to start looking at a compressor ourselves?

The drive from Cowes to Inverloch isn't really that far and is very scenic. You could do your dives for the day and then drive to Inverloch for fills and go out for dinner - the Inlet Hotel does great meals or if you want something more casual, Schanppers place fish and chips just opposite the park has great fish and chips. Or you could get fills and combine it with a dive or two at Cape Paterson which is only 10min from Inverloch. If the conditions are right and you don't mind steps you could even do one of the shore dives in the Bunarong Marine park (between Inverloch and Cape Paterson) such as Shack Bay and that would be nice variety from the Island. If you don't have boat access at Phillip Island your choices of shore dives are somewhat limited.

Mel

Hey Alan :)

Yes I got the DVD's - I meant to email you to tell you. They were great and I was so homesick watching them[:I] I'd almost kill for a dive in Victoria at the moment...I had a weekend diving booked here in Ireland and of course there's gale force winds, thunder and sleet & snow predicted[:(!]

Oh well I'll get wet one day I'm sure[:-}]

Thanks Mel,
Yep, poor us, did 6 dives this Easter around PP Heads, Water temp 19deg, vis to 18 metres, but groundswell made it dirty on bottom. Had crays for tea last night, outside as it was so warm, down to 20 deg overnight! Happy Easter!

Hi Guys,
If anyone is after airfills down the island send me a PM and I'll give you my mobile number. I live on the island so it's a tad more convenient than driving over to see Lex.....
Cheers,
Pete

Hey Pete,
I was wondering if I could get some tanks filled. I have a holiday house at Philip island and am really sick of driving to Hallam to get them filled.
Cheers Cat
