tease...

Home made banana cake and home made chocolate sauce (and guess how I cleaned up the mess when that overflowed like vesuvius in the new microwave).

Dinner went well.

And there was more than enough for Almitywife if she wanted some [:o)]. How come there is "bad stuff" in your house? Although maybe having ingredients for choc sauce counts as "bad stuff" I don't know.

Going for a walk as soon as I put my shoes on. Apparently computer system is broken again but they don't want me to come and fix it yet. Maybe because they have not followed even one of the recommendations I made for fixing it if it happened to keel over after I left.

Actually - there's that cousin I should phone for exercise partnership - I'll do that and then go for walk.

strange how the tongue is not as effective as a fingernail at removing warm toffee, though I did have to suck the handle of the coffee cup that was supposed to contain the mix (it was fine as long as I didn't zap more than 5 seconds at a time - just not used to the power of this new microwave).

My point was - as you guessed - I ate the chocolate.

I did manage to get my walk in today and the phone call about the computer system came when I was at the furtherest point from the house. Though it was threatening rain at that time so seemed a good time to turn around.

Still think I've managed to exceed my output by my intake of calories but did better than yesterday. [:o)]

We had some lovely rain today but I did manage to get a 1/2 hour walk in............
Even did that walk 50 steps slow jog 50 steps thing & got my heart rate up a bit! The dog loved the jog bit too, but don't know how my knee will go so am taking it slowly.

Way to go seadragon57!

Was doing really well with the drinking water bit til I went to my honeys on the weekend & find Melbourne water tastes like s*#t now too (despite their water storage being at 34% while poor old Ballarats is at about 11%!) I'm going to have to resort to bottled or tank water there as well!

Have done a second walk with about 5 minutes of walk 50 steps/ slow jog 50 steps half way through it. The knee is holding up ok as it was on grass not hard footpath. Did it at the park when no one was around as its not pretty![^?^]

Am also doing a few bursts on an old exercise bike just to mix things up, get my body out of its comfort zone & raise my heart rate more than usual.

The more (water) you drink the more you shrink........ 2 glasses so far today & its only 6am!! :D

Been for a few rides recently as the weather has been sensational down here recently. My times are slowly coming down too, managed to shave 2mins off on last nights effort, conditions were good, there was little wind and traffic also I was feeling very "elastic".

Taking up a couple of social sports during the week to keep me occupied, also have the urge to pull on the rugby boots again, but I'm sure a pre-season session will change that...

But overall, feeling good having lost a few kgs, however there is a lot of work still to go! Keep up the good work people!

Here's to not picking a fight with you. Superwoman wouldn't be able to do all that. Schlepping tanks must be a breeze now. :D

So last night - first game of hockey in um, years? I had trouble trapping the ball on the run and missed quite a few. Missed a few because people put them too far away or behind me but got better. Knee complained slightly about changing direction but not seriously. Was good. And I could sprint in straight lines no worries. And I scored our first goal - whoo hoo. And I stopped one. Didn't mean to get in the way of goal shots...

Over all I took it pretty gently. Umpired for the last game and sat out the middle game - though I should have been practicing traps on the run. It was a bit hot last night. That gets me more than lack of fitness. Me and one of the other "girls" (we're all vets / over 35s) discussed how much we'd rather chase a hockey ball than go for a run. Unfortunately need to do some running to get better at chasing hockey balls.

Great job guys...Pleased to hear some success stories. You all are much more committed to this than I am!!

November is not a complete write-off yet. Hopefully I can turn it around.

Nothing at all is going in my favour though! Very long days in the office sitting on my bum...

Going diving on Sat though!? Hopefully that counts. With no exercise at all for the past week or so, I will not be conditioned at all and probably run out of air after 30 mins! [^()^]

Did a 45 minute "Aqua 50/50" class last night- half Water Aerobics half Aqua Running & not bad as I only had to modify a couple of things to keep my back happy. Will take advantage of the spa next week as its included....... extra incentive to get me to go!!!

I kept up an exersize routine during the week and i feel alot fitter , i'm going for a double dive on sunday so the extra fitness will come in handy , it's a jetty dive (Nourlunga) so i'll wear all my gear from the car park to the end ( that should test my fitness for sure ) i hope the weather holds out [8D] Happy bubble blowing

Finally got back to my personal trainer. Was hard after 2 months with very little exercise. Can still feel my quads from doing some lunges, went for a 50 minute walk tonight to hopefully help ease the pain.

Ok my walk last night hasn't stopped me from being stiff and sore today. Still feels good to have done some exercise. Will have to go for another walk today and take bub to the park might even make a trip to the pool and see how my shoulder goes with a couple of laps otherwise it will be walking instead.

Beer and BBQ thats life in good old oz but it comes at a price ,
a big fat guts and hang overs and i've had plenty of that. [8D]
But now i must be strong , not too much beer and i dont eat the fat on my chops , i still wear my shorts thongs and singlet ,the only thing thats missing is the big gut , well its smaller anyway.
I went for a dive yesterday at noarlunga reef south of Adelaide ,fantastic conditions lots of fish and great viz only 5 to 6 metres deep bottom time 71 mins :p and my extra fitness helped when walking with full gear from car park to end of jetty ..i love it under water : i wish i was a fish :)

friday - schlepped tank, pavers (15kg each), and sand and potting mix. Saturday all day - wandered around cross country course, did about 3 laps (12km+) including round the outside of the pay section (I'm too mean to buy a ticket but I did buy a program, they could use some sponsorship, govt cut their funding).
Sunday - unloaded pavers and sand (oops), and laid them today. Brick sand sticks to metal levels - oops again.

Looking forward to install of new rain water tank and hoping I got the level right so it leans against the house or stays level, instead of leaning away from it (leading to it falling over if it ever fills up with water). It's 85kg empty, yikes. Hoping we get it on the pavers without knocking them out of level.

Anyway, got slightly stiff muscles from I don't know which activity but surely not Tuesday night hockey.

Went for a run last night just to do something diffrent, about 10mins in I felt a pull from under the arch of my foot. Long story short I hobbled home and jumped into bed. Woke up this morning and am unable to put any weight on it due to the pain it causes. Right when I start a weeks leave...you would be suprised how often I injure myself when I have leave...

Going to the physio this afternoon to find out what I have done, was also planning on going away diving this weekend. Are there any problems with diving with what is most likely a muscle injury?

Hope your perambulation (most dogs don't know this word, but they all know the W word) companion gets better soon and it's nothing serious.

Homer

I sometimes get that sore arch thing. I don't know what causes it and it's always gone away by itself. Don't remember trying to dive or swim/fin with it though. Have been known to ignore it, walking or running for hockey.

Almitywife - I wonder if they have bootcamps here. I could use an exercise program like that.

Played hockey last night, then participated in a casual skills coaching session then umpired (and actually ran a bit this week). Still knackered after one sprint and taking a while to recover but started getting used to it. Got sore in the bend and reach muscles. And shoulders but still able to function. Might be worse tomorrow. [^|^]
