im sure there is... its like a normal training session but its up'd with a military theme up so you really hit your max.

running up and down hills with tyres, pulling tyres up and down shuttle runs, situps in the wet grass/mud, doing pushups for whatever excuse the trainer can come up with (though i must admit, one girl calling him Big Bastard Boss instead of Big Boss Blackie was worth the 20 pushups!)

this morning at training, everyone was sore - even the healthy ones.

first bootcamp i hated because its was a big group of 20 people, mostly strangers but this months bootcamp is just the 10 of us and we are regulars so the comfort factor for me was important

Ok dumb me

I put bootcamp adelaide fitness (or something like that) into popular search engine and there are heaps, though some of the sites feature poor spelling and haven't been updated for ages.

Sent an email off to one, to ask if they're still running them.

Another suggested I'd be feeling energised after a morning workout - yeah right.

And so far, haven't found one that is run on my side of town, but I guess the city is fairly close and they're cheaper than pilates sessions where I have to push myself - though I'm reasonably good at that once I'm there.

usualy my girlfriend has made something mouth watering and its staring me in the face when i open the fridge ( Vindaloo or a Rogan josh ) then to ease the pain of a hard days work , i have a glass or 2 of a nice shiraz :p So i'm in no mood to exersize the next day... in fact i'm in no mood to do anything . i start work at 2 [xx(] :( :( :(

Bunyip - check out your local YMCA for a bootcamp program. Not sure about SA but here in Vic the YMCAs run them as 6 week programs, 3 mornings or 3 evenings a week. Haven't done one myself yet, but other friends say they are good.

As for me, too much work and not enough play. Not much going for Novemeber, but I did head up bush for some prospecting again, walked the hills again, my legs ached, and I felt better for it! But December I'll be rearing to go: got a heap of dives planned with 2 weeks holidays coming my way!

Dogs back from vets but she still has a bit of eating cut up chicken fillet (she is sooooo skinny) and sleeping in front of the heater to do, to get her back to 100%. Has a very big scar with lots of stiches to show the other dogs when she goes back to Doggie Social & Training group! I'm still walking by myself- except I'm having a night of as it is raining & I can't be bothered after a stressful week!
Tomorrow is another day........

I have settled into another mine located near Coolgardie. Signed up for gym membership yesterday and had a good session last night, 20 minutes on the bike, 10 on the rower and some squats and lunges thrown in for fun. Wednesday and Thursday nights i walked the streets of town for 40 minutes.

Been slack....... 2 days of no walk around the block! At least dog is getting better & doesn't need constant small meals, toilet breaks & watching all day.
Tomorrow should be back into walking & have to get out in the garden with a hoe & see if I can dig up any bones shes buried as she can't have bones anymore!

beer has lots of vitamins and minerals too.

I'd rather drink that (in moderation) than touch gut-rot like rum and coke. Big gut or bowel cancer - what a choice.

By the way - most of the calories are in the alcohol which apart from getting converted to headaches, also gets converted to sugar which gets converted to fat which gets converted to... fat gut. Changing the mode of alcohol intake will not make a lot of difference - apart from opting for the natural nutriants that are in Aussie wines and (Coopers) ales.

Although near neat alcohol like rum, with water (no coke) is the least number of calories. I'd still rather have beer. And low alcohol beer has less calories, although I can see how some of you wouldn't get the point. For me the point is I can drink a whole stubby of cascade light and be ok to drive home. Especially if it takes me an hour or so to drink it.

Oh some fitness stuff. I walked all over the city today. I think I would have scored my 10,000 steps no wurries. Checked out the whole of rundle street markets, and the classic adelaide car race wind up, but parked my car near Vic Park (ex) racecourse 1/2 mile away.

Making progress.... took the dog for a short walk around 2 "small" blocks. Not bad seeing she is a scrawny little thing recovering well after about 12inches of her intestine was removed Tuesday. We will be doing our normal 30 minute "big" block in no time. :D

Just got a sms saying that rugby pre-season kicks off tonight, typical, I'm always injured for the start of pre-season...

Spent the weekend away diving and didn't do AS much damage as I thought I would. Jumped on the scales yesterday and I am the lightest I have been for 18mths, the kgs are slowly coming off!

congrats Homer on the weight loss!!! well done

this morning was 6am bootcamp and the only incentive i had to do it was hubby pushing me out of bed saying "its the last tuesday session"

it wasnt the 200 pushups that nearly killed me but holding a squat position for 3mins and then being told to run around the oval [B)]

but done!

Last night i spent an hour at the gym and worked out i can use the treadmill without gettiing sick if i look straight ahead and don't spend much time watching the display or looking side ways. Tonight i had a night off but i'm spending a lot more time out of the office at work. Back to the gym tomorrow night.

For some of my pre-trip gym sessions I was using 7kg and 8kg dumbells for lunges, and wall ball squats and bicep curls and lifts, and step ups, can't do star jumps with them though. The idea was to make lifting tanks easier.

I did notice a guy who was having trouble doing wall ball squats with 1kg dumbells and I felt quite smug. Me, competitive? Maybe a little bit. Then again who knows what injuries he might have been dealing with apart from general unfitness.

Not sure what weight I'd have to cut back to now, haven't done any dumbells for ages, unless you count the 10 litre watering can or the sometimes 10kg backpack.

Played a whole half of hockey with no sub on tuesday night - WTF? every time I tried to sub, somebody had just beaten me to it. Made glut muscle sore, but it seems ok now. Umpired two games but by the last game I wasn't running much.

Hi Almitywife

I know the hungry feeling...

Being hungry is your friend - is a paraphrase of what my mum says.

For me, I don't mind a feed after a workout, the trick is not to binge on bad stuff like chocolate donuts.

Having some munchie sized bits of carrot in the fridge, and some oranges or bananas around to snack on helps. Otherwise, I figure if it's home made then it can't be as bad as takeaway or mars bars or tim tams.

Of course making my own caramel sauce (read fat + sugar + more fat) to put on icecream (more fat and sugar), does not count. Even if I include strawberries (vitamins and water) from my garden.

Had some lovely juicy sweet pineapple cut up in the fridge & what did I eat today- white chocolate snowballs [^()^][^()^][^()^][^()^]

Will have to work extra hard at Aqua 50/50 class tonight as still only doing little 7 minute walks with miss dog, but she is improving everyday. Did pull down the 20 year old+ Christmas tree that we only put up at the Fire Brigade last night...... Captain gave me permission to get a new one & decorations & WE MUST ALL LISTEN TO THE CAPTAIN LOL!! New tree looks good and fits in well seeing we have a new extension, new chairs and new carpet. Wonder if they would notice if I "borrowed" it and left mine in its place????? Hope I'm around in another 20 years to replace it.

All hail the Captain! Elly, remember this is brigade funds, you can't just go around spending it on things that may be deemed useful or morale building. Did you have a working party for said Christmas tree headed by 4 separate sub-committees?

Sorry, I know all to well brigade bollocks...

On a personal note, Christmas festivities have started with a social engagement last night. Have my work and my partners work break-ups both next week. My birthday in a few weeks, another break up the night after and then a few other engagements. Trying to be good and watch what I eat and drink at these functions. Found that driving helps as I don't drink a lot and can keep a level head and eat more sensibly, but sometimes I just want to party...

Its ok Homer- donations we get (well the cash ones, not the kind that come in brown bottles in lots of 24 LOL) for delivering Santas in the fire truck over the next few weeks will well and truely pay for tree & decorations so Brigade coffers are still in tact!

Had a good work out at the pool last night- just as well after all the snowballs!! The normal instructor pushes us much harder than her fill in & the old heart was pumping! Only have to moderate a couple of things to keep the back happy too. Pity about the sleezos in the spa after who think your there to be picked up, it should be nice chance to kick back & relax & catch up with my friend.........[^()^]

I've realised that when you've been over weight and then you lose some , your body screams out for Food Food Food , it must be because the body is basically lazy and does'nt want to live off its own fat stores ,well thats my analogy .
So i've put my 2kgs back on and i'm starting my exercise routine again in the morning [8D] this time i'll be on guard :)

Had a good workout at the gym today, except for the ab workout (least favourite target area). It is very frustrating trying to get back into the exercise lifestyle, starting all over again and struggling with things that i used to find easy. But i am slowly improving and i quess it took a while to get results when i started exercising before.

Sad how quickly and easily we put weight on and get unfit and don't even notice until it is really noticeable, and how long and hard it is to reverse the situation [^|^]
I know what my problem is: eating too much/ eating the wrong things like chocolate & junk food/ baking all sorts of things & eating them/ boredom eating etc etc etc yet I still do them ALL THE TIME!!!

Am worse at the moment as I am not working and have more time, yet can't do what I want to do- dive- until at least Feb. Its frustrating as when I am able to dive will probably be working and won't have the time to dive.......[^()^]
