Hi i start a commercial divers course next week,i'm gonna jog and do weights every day this week, because i think it's going to be strenuous and i don't want those young guys to run rings around me...lol. [8D]

Back on track this month! Hopefully I am not required to go away with work for any extended amount of time.

I've started training back with the rugby club, but any thoughts of coming out of retirement on a full time basis are quickly dispelled.

I'm enjoying training and it's good to be back and around the club again. The one thing I need to avoid, is standing around at games next to the BBQ, drinking beers and telling everybody how good I used to be!

Even thouggh i haven't been posting i have kept up my exercising but my eating has got a bit on the large side of late. I think i said it last month but i need to keep my portions under control.

Played mixed hockey tonight had a good time and a good run especially since we were out numbered. I can feel my legs actually i could feel them before the game must of been the lunges from last night.

i've done a lot of crunches on one of those ab workers
that roll on the ground,its worked, my stomach is getting flatter
but i've got to watch what and how much i eat. Thats the hard part. [8D]

I totally agree on the food bit being the hardest, i could exercise for hours but control my eating is another matter all together.

Totally agree..... if I just stopped shoving all the extras into my mouth I wouldn't have a weight problem! Easier said than done & a lot of it with me at the moment is boredom eating. Never thought I would miss work, but it fills in the day & keeps me out of the fridge or from cooking heaps & then eating what I cooked.
Gets harder as you get older as you don't need as much food

But keep trying peeps- we are the ones that benefit from carrying less weight

hmmmm - decided i cant be in denial anymore so tomorrow i start back at weekly weighins and monday i have a full set of blood tests ordered to find out whats happening (ie, i have no thyroid). so hopefully i will start having some postive news

not much excercise the past week, i can only claim some diving and climbing up dive ladders

Went for a dive this morning followed by a pt session. Went out for dinner last night so had to burn off the extra calories. I'm going out tonight as well, its my wifes b'day.

Went for an hours walk along the foreshore last night.

Today my wife is playing in some grading games (hockey) so if my daughter wakes up we might go for a walk up there, if not i will have to go to the gym and do some cardio stuff.

Hi I just got back from a week at Burra in SA , Doing the theory for commercial diving. Its a very quiet town with 5 pubs [8D] so i weigh a bit more than i should but thats ok i'll work it off. [8D]

Appolgies for not posting for a while, my work has decided to block Diveoz, how I am going to waste the first 30mins of my day now I just don't know!

Keeping up with daily exercise in some form and feeling good. Lost a few kgs and noticing clothes getting looser. Have also found out that my high school 10yr reunion is coming up in May, so will have to up the activity to be looking my best!

Actually lost a little this week & don't know how or why! Didn't watch what I ate or anything. Now if I keep that up for another 3 months might fit back into my 7mm wet suit just in time for winter diving!!!!!!!!!!!! [:-((]

hi guys... ive had a 2 week break (we went to south west rocks btw) and feeling much better about everything!

had my first weighin last week [^()^] so ive been thinking about what i eat before i put it into my mouth so hopefully when i get back on the scales next week i will see some positive news

in the meantime... back at training today with a 6am session completed!

Hi I jogged 5 times around a cricket oval then walked 5 times around, came home and did some weights. I hav'ent done night shift for 4 weeks and i feel heaps better with more energy..

I've been sick for a week so haven't done any exercise during that time. I was feeling better and went to my p.t. today but i think i was still effected a bit as even the warm up and warm down was challenging. I'm going to Dunsborough for the weekend (no diving) so will probably do a bit of walking and swimming at the beach.

Hi, i did my commercial dive medical today and passed :)
whoooo hooooo they said my hearing has a bit of damage from working in a noisy environment but nothing to stop me from diving.
So there's still some life in the old stallion.

Had a nice weekend at Dunsborough went for a bit of a paddle and a couple of walks. As we were leaving was sadened to hear about the whales and dolphins at Hamlin Bay and would of went down but we were on our way home by the time we heard about it it sounded like it was under control with enough volunteers.

Yesterday went for an hours walk which took a bit longer than it should of as my daughter wanted to walk instead of sitting in the pram.

Today was P.T. session which went much better than Fridays session, that session really knocked me after a week of being unwell.

I'm finding that the more exercise i do, the more hungry i get.
i'm going to build a padded room in the back yard and get my girlfriend to strap me in a straight jacket and lock me in it
until the hunger pangs go away.
i've tried everything else this is my last resort [8D]

Seadragon if you only eat 3 meals a day maybe you need to split them up so you eat the same total amount but more snack size meals so you don't have the highs and lows in energy levels. There is another theory that you might need to use a supplement or multi vitamin to stop your body cravings. I found cutting down drastically on carbs helped me get rid of cravings, i still eat them but instead of 8 slices of bread a day i probably only have about 4 a week etc.

Thanks for the info Bloat, you hit the bullseye mate, i eat heaps of bread, it makes sense-- Carbs turn into sugar--sugar produces energy--energy makes you want to eat everything in sight..and eating more feeds your body so it does'nt need to sustain it's self from your fat stores. [?|?] HHHHMMMM ok i'll give it a go.. i'll cut down on the bread. Cheers i'll let you know how i go [8D]

We are trying diversion therapy.
No 1 son has given up smoking, so if he has a craving he has to tell me & the dog & I will drag him off a round the block. If I have food cravings (at night when I am bored & have really had enough food for the day but pick on all manner of food) I tell him & he will drag me around the block with him & the dog.
He is keen to improve his fitness & asked me to badger him to go for walks with me & the dog not just accept his "nah, I can't be bothered"! Brave boy saying that to me! [^-=-^]

Seadragon57 bread was just an example, i have cut my potato, pasta,rice etc. They all oount, when i looked back to my growing up i realised i started to get fat deposits when i started eating lots of pasta. Playing sport everyone was talking about eating carbs so i found a new favourite food, pasta and potato. I ate it every day with at least one meal sometimes two. At the time i was burning heaps of energy but still consuming more than anough. That was what got me into thinking i would reduce my intake and it worked along with reducing cravings, I still need chocolate though.


Went to the gym again tonight for my 30. Might go for a walk tomorrow night.

Busy day- finally got home 10pm. Was going to crash in front of TV as I was tired, but asked No 1 Son if he felt like taking dog for a "little" walk & he did. Our little walk turned into a normal 1/2 hour walk as it was a lovely night & I felt refreshed after doing paperwork at school plus 3 hours of it after tea for a club I'm in.
