Measuring output of inert gases when off gassing.

I think this might be a question for Hyperbaric surgeons but is there a way have my nitrogen and Helium flow measured whilst off gassing and compare to other people ?

I'm no expert but I would doubt this could readily be done..

By the way, I think you may mean hyperbaric 'specialist' rather than 'surgeon' - there isn't much surgery to be done when someone has the DCS etc. Hehe :silly:

Why in God's name would you want to know this, it is such a small amount (millilitres if that) in comparison to the say your something like your tidal flow during a dive that it just doesn't matter. Given you are flushing on the way up the waste gases are all being expelled anyway.

Sounds like you are not coming clean as to just why you would want to know this ... reeks of a buoyancy problem to me on the shallow stops - would I be right ??? ... :-)

Just picked up on your posts on other CCR forums ... interesting.

I would bet my left nut that off gassing is not your issue. Could be skill level but that is easily tested by doing a static dive at a fixed say 6m depth and see what happens if you rise then its not you or off gassing

I would be looking at equipment specially the ADV. Had a guy with a rEvo last week with the same problem ... sure enough a leaking ADV. ... Buy a JJ

hehe yeah Baz I have thought about buying another but got a great deal on this and besides I have spent on the card for it. Maybe I will just buy another rebreather next year and compare the two. Thanks for the advice I need to get it in the water this weekend some time, I also found someone who lives close by with a booster and o2 bottle so I will hold off on that purchase til next year from you, still want one though.

On a more medical stream I am actually really interested to see if science has moved far in being able to measure a persons amount of inert gas breathed out from off gassing. I would like to have mine tested and compared with peoples to give me and idea of my limits on gassing. I cut back to a GF 35/80 so far so good.
