Ear / squeeze problem

Hi.

I've done 60 odd dives and never had a problem, but I had a bad cold about a month ago and now my right ear isn't equalising properly. I haven't tried diving with it yet, but when I try and equalize on the surface I hear a funny squeeky noise and then I go semi-deaf in that ear for half an hour or so. It feels like its close to blocked!

I'm booked for a dive next weekend and I'm wondering if there is anything I can do this week to clear out anything in my canals/sinuses/ears? Perhaps ear candelling or something?

Advice?

Cheers!

Sounds suspiciously like an ear infection. Go to a doctor, get some drops and definitely don't dive until its cleared up.

Do NOT do ear candelling. See a ENT specialist if pain persists. At very least get a script for Sophradex from a GP. Dont dive until it clears up
