PHOTOGRAPHERS INFORMATION
"Marcel Widmer - Gallery One"
Growing up in a tiny lakeside village in Switzerland my love for the water started at the early age of seven. Equipped with Mask, Snorkel and Fins I used to venture into the shallow waters observing all sorts of fresh water creatures…I remember the excitement looking trough my yellow tinted Mask as if it was yesterday!

My full time occupation as a chef brought me to Sydney in 1979 where I learned to Scuba dive shortly after my arrival and it became a passion of mine. Nowadays as PADI Instructor I offer personalized Photography Courses and pass on my knowledge to others.

Photography has always been a hobby of mine and my first Underwater Camera bought was a Nikonos V. I studied from books but mostly learned by shooting many rolls of film and correcting mistakes.

I dived in Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu, Solomon Islands, Fiji, Spain, Thailand and of course our Great Barrier Reef.

Years of hard work paid off by having my Images published in Magazines, Advertising and also being recognized in National and International Competitions.
