INFORMATION "Dave (DaveH) Harasti - Gallery One"
Underwater photography and studying marine life is my passion - hence I do a fair amount of scuba diving. I am a marine scientist and I currently work in the NSW Fisheries Threatened Species Unit based in Port Stephens. I previously worked for the Commonwealth Department of the Environment and Heritage in Canberra on the conservation of threatened marine species such as sharks and turtles.
I have been diving for about 8 years and have been fortunate enough to dive in many places around the world including the Red Sea, Thailand, Vanuatu and Papua New Guinea. Some of my favourite dive locations in Australia include the Rowley Shoals, Lady Musgrave Island, the Solitary Islands, Brush Island and the shore dives of Nelson Bay.
I now operate a Nikon Coolpix 5000 in an Ikelite housing with dual Ikelite DS125 strobes. This is an excellent digital camera system and I am a big fan of the Ikelite underwater camera products. Check out my webpage for further images.
All of the images below were taken when I was still using a Sea & Sea Motor Marine II Ex and a single YS60 strobe.
